I think the game didn't account for me hiding behind the bathroom door unmoving. The objective list says 'survive', and the goal is to not be found, so I think it's perfectly reasonable to find a hiding spot and stay still until the sun comes up.
That said, I've been standing here for ~10 minutes and nothing has happened, so maybe make the monsters eventually autokill, or have the sun rise?
The game is actually intended to be linear, you follow cues around the house to get to the ending. I put the objective "survive" to create fear but then made the phone ring to draw players to the next point of interest. Apologies for the confusion!
this was awesome!! really good for a first game too. i loved the eerie vibe of the game and how generally creepy it felt to play without the use of jumpscares!! keep up the awesome work jamjar! looking forward to playing more of your games :))
Considering that this is your first ever horror game, I thought you did a fantastic job! It was a clever idea regarding the lights and curtains and can't wait to see what other projects you might have in mind. Oh, I got really scared in the end too haha, thanks for that!

This game was short and sweet. The aesthetic was superb. I can't wait for a whole game with this vibe. For some reason, I never read what is in the top left side of the screen.

This is a great game! This genuinely scared me and freaked me out multiple times. The second I saw the grainy TV I knew this would be a good horror game. So many times, I went "nope" and ran to the bedroom. The tension and the little things leading up to the big scare made it so much better. Especially for your first time and this being a collage assignment this was AMAZING!
